22/09/2010. The International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY) is holding its first Liberal Solidarity Week (LSW) this week. The LSW aims at mobilizing attention from young people around the world for the plight of those living under authoritarian regimes. For this year's LSW, the focus countries are Azerbaijan, Cuba and Singapore. We salute our Member Organizations from these countries, ALYA, DALGA and Musavat Youth from Azerbaijan, the SDP Youth from Singapore, and thank the IFLRY Cuba Programme Team for their support to this initiative.

30/04/2010. IFLRY, the global umbrella of liberal youth and student organizations, strongly condemns today's actions by the Azerbaijani authorities against two of its Member Organizations in relation to the mourning of last year's massacre at the Baku State Oil Academy.

18/03/2010. The International Federation of Liberal Youth commemorates today the 7th anniversary of the Cuban Black Spring. Beginning on March 18th 2003, the Cuban government arrested and sentenced 75 dissidents all over Cuba - of which 54 of these are still in jail. Together with around 150 other political prisoners, they are confined in awful conditions just for writing, establishing small libraries in their homes, and peacefully working for democratic change.

The International Federation of Liberal Youth is congratulating the SDP and its youth organization, the SDP-Y, with this milestone in the party's remarkable history of being the most important democratic actor in the authoritarian country.
