Budapest Seminar Report: April 23

Monday, April 23, 2007

The following remarks are by Samir, Ludmila, Robert, Adelina, Ana, and Jasdeep, group one for the day of Monday, April 23, 2007 from Budapest Hungary.

We would like to highlight the general themes and our reflections on the first day of the Study Group on Respecting Religious Diversity.

The seminar began with an introduction from a representative from the Council of Europe, and the primary mandate and purpose of the Council and what it does in helping to co-ordinate the different issues facing
Europe and Abroad.

Additionally we had to opportunity to meet and learn about all the participants, their nations and organizations. It is evident that there is a very diverse group of people for conference in Budapest
from many different nations, continents, organizations, and faiths.

Numerous ice breaking games/events took place to help illustrate the diversity and richness of all participants.

A special section on learning about Christianity, Islam and Judaism helped to increase the awareness of similarities between the faiths. This worked to help increase participation of all participants and increase everyone understands of the all 3 faiths. A special documentary was shown on the background of Islam helping to lay the foundation for a successful and productive study session.

Currently we must also comment on the special dance that was demonstrated by Diego, from Spain and a representative whose name this entire group cannot agree on. Starts with L and has a " pbsjisjks" in it, we will update at a later done, he is from FROM MACEDONIA. This can be compared to the new Macrena of BUDAPEST

One event that must be commented and Robert has been eminent on bring forth is his great bump and grind routine to the music Shakira. It was soo great that it lead to many bras and other underwear coming off in admiration of him.

More information about IFLRY was provided helping to increase awareness of the organization and how member organizations are valuable contributors.

The entire day went very well and passed by very quickly; look forward to filling in readers in following days.
