Finnish Centre Youth’s President, MP Tuomo Puumala, runs for Vice President of Finnish Centre Party
Finnish Centre Youth’s Executive Committee is meeting at Kokkola, Finland 29th to 30th of March. FCY’s president Tuomo Puumala, youngest parliamentarian in Finland, has just revealed that he is running to be Vice President of Finnish Centre Party. Finnish Centre Party has its Congress in June at Joensuu. Congress will elect new party leadership: president, three vice presidents and party secretary. Current party leader, prime minister Matti Vanhanen and party secretary Jarmo Korhonen both will probably continue, but there will be tight competition on vice presidents. Current vice presidents are MP Paula Lehtomäki, Minister of Public Administration and Local Government Mari Kiviniemi and MP Antti Rantakangas. All of them are willing to continue. Other vice president candidates are at the moment Tuomo Puumala, MP Timo Kaunisto and MP Elsi Katainen.

Finnish Centre Youth’s Executive Committee gives its strong support to Tuomo Puumala for his candidacy. Executive Committee also discussed about local elections, which are held next fall, and adopted annual report and finances.
