From the 21st to the 25th of May Young liberals of Bosnia and Herzegovina (MLBiH) together with NUV (Norway), HNS (Croatia) and LDP (Serbia) organized seminars about Climate change. The participants visited four cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Mostar, Zenica, Tuzla and Sarajevo, and organized in each local branch a little seminar.

 

The cooperation between Young liberals and environmental NGO's working with climate change in particular continued. Džemila Agic, director of Eco Center Tuzla, was on of the lecturers in this seminar, but also a great collaborator from the beginning of the project.

Together with Tim Clancy from Greenvisions Sarajevo the participants visited the location of the first Eco – house for an environmentally friendly foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They got the chance to discuss with experts from an Eco –construction company from the UK, about alternative, Eco – friendly technologies in energy, building and living.

 

The purpose of these seminars was to educate young people about the theme of this years project, to encourage them to elaborate on problems from their countries and to come up with concrete solutions, which could be implemented at the local level. Using cooperative learning as a learning method, as well as group work, the participants got a chance to learn about the causes and effects of climate change, and also about international agreements on combating climate changes and global warming, such as the Kyoto Protocol and the upcoming Copenhagen meeting in 2009.
