Trade to some extent can influence human rights but in most cases it not entirely effective when there are conflicting interests among the members of the international community concerning the country in question. more need to be done especially in changing the perception of the citizens of that particular country.

During the last months there has been a massive attention on human rights. It is especially the situation in Tibet which drew to focus away from OL and on the human rights. I for my part would like to know how the human rights can be used as a tool when trading, and what we can do to change the living conditions for the better for people around the world.

Trade can be used as a tool to pressurize the observance of human rights like it has done in some few countries to some level, but look at what is happening in Zimbabwe? Inflation is over 100000 %, who feels the pinch ? Is it Mugabe or the common Zimbabweans who have to carry currency notes in bags to the shops.I think a different approach is necessary to exclude the common citizen from suffering for mistakes they have not done.
