Hi Everyone,
I live in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada and would like to get a feel of global policy in light of food marketing. Canada has a few powerful regulating bodies in the areas of food production and distribution. The Dairy Board and Canada Wheat Board control pricing and distribution internationally and have a major influence on internal pricing policy.
A few years ago there was a lot of media coverage regarding food shortages in Pakistan, India, and much of S.E. Asia. I read that there wasn't actually a food shortage but that out global supply chain and distribution systems are poorly designed and overly bureaucratic.
Is there a dilemma of removing regualtion to speed up distribution. Unintential consequences seem to enter many systems once they change. What would happen with fewer food distribution regualtions?
