IFLRY Launches First Liberal Solidarity Week
The International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY) is holding its first Liberal Solidarity Week (LSW) this week. The LSW aims at mobilizing attention from young people around the world for the plight of those living under authoritarian regimes. For this year's LSW, the focus countries are Azerbaijan, Cuba and Singapore. We salute our Member Organizations from these countries, ALYA, DALGA and Musavat Youth from Azerbaijan, the SDP Youth from Singapore, and thank the IFLRY Cuba Programme Team for their support to this initiative.
Fourteen of its Member Organizations are taking part in the LSW by organizing workshops, discussion tables or movie nights. Some of the materials can be accessed HERE. An introductory video can be seen HERE.
IFLRY Vice President and LSW Organizer Jordi Villanueva: "Over the past months we have edited materials and asked partners for videos and other stuff that can be used as action to protest the authoritarian regimes that drown its citizens' dreams and life. I want to thank the 14 MOs who decided to support this event from the beginning. IFLRY is an umbrella organization which can only fulfill its targets when its members take ownership of the work."
The LSW is intended to become an annual happening, with each year more member organizations taking part.
