Free and fair trade in a changing world

Seminar

Who decides who trades, and who wins?

Tariffs are back. Supply chains are fracturing. Politics is interfering with commerce. And young people in the Americas are being handed a global economy they had no hand in designing.

Free and Fair Trade in a Changing World is a 4 day regional workshop ( from the 20th to the 23 August) sponsored by the Centre Party International Foundation- CIS, bringing together young leaders from Latin America, North America, and the Caribbean to rethink trade, not as a spreadsheet exercise, but as a political and social question in Antigua, Guatemala.

We'll dig into:

  • Why free trade hasn't worked equally for everyone and what to do about it
  • The rise of protectionism and what it means for young economies
  • Youth entrepreneurship: who gets capital, who gets left out
  • Brain drain, regional talent, and the ethics of economic mobility
  • Building a network for inclusive economic leadership
  • Essential mining and the role of the Americas in the global economy.

We're looking for young activists, entrepreneurs, students, and organizers who want to move beyond the talking points, and actually shape what liberal economic thinking looks like in the Americas.

If you're based in the Americas, this is your chance to connect with fellow liberals and help set the agenda. Scholarships covering flights, food, and accommodation are available for participants from most countries in the region.

Deadline to apply : 09 July
