Youth as the Answer: Mutual Learning and Strategic Dialogue for Inclusive Societies

Seminar
Lisbon, Portugal
-

Deadline:

Apply here to participate in the IFLRY–CoE EYF activity 'Youth as the Answer: Mutual Learning and Strategic Dialogue for Inclusive Societies' taking place in Lisbon, Portugal from October 1st to 4th, 2026.

Building directly upon the outcomes of our previous two activities - held in Sofia, Bulgaria in May (focused on tackling Xenophobia especially towards Refugees and Antigypsyism) and in Berlin, Germany) in July (tackling rise of anti-rights movement). This activity will bring together returning participants from both events along with 7 new participants to co-develop a comprehensive toolkit.

The overall aim is to empower young people to counter the discrimination and exclusion of minorities by fostering intercultural dialogue, democratic resilience, and inclusive policy-making. Through a youth-led exploration of the root causes, consequences, and solutions for minority rights violations in Europe, the project creates a platform for participants to engage with pressing issues currently dominating political discourse.

Specifically, the activity's objectives are:

1. Bring together diverse perspectives regarding threats against minorities in Europe to formulate solutions from a distinct youth viewpoint.
2. Examine the long-term impact of discrimination and exclusion on young people growing up under these threats.
3. Identify the primary drivers behind minority rights violations and explore effective solutions grounded in liberal democratic perspectives.
4. Facilitate the exchange of national best practices and policies, leveraging insights from the Sofia and Berlin sessions to collaboratively design a practical toolkit for future youth-led advocacy and action.

We are looking for participants aged 18–30 who are actively engaged in youth work, civic participation, advocacy, or community initiatives that promote inclusion, equality, democracy, and human rights. We encourage applications from individuals who are eager to contribute their perspectives, learn from others, and collaborate in an international and intercultural environment.

Kindly note: A participation fee of €30 will apply. Participation fee waivers are available upon request.

If you have any questions regarding your application, please contact events@iflry.org

The deadline to apply is the 21 August 2026 (23:59 CEST).
