IFLRY attends FNF Eastern European Summit

The only gathering of young liberals specifically from Central and Eastern Europe, spanning from Slovenia to Georgia.

From 7–9 August, FNF Central Europe, together with Julis, organised a joint summit for liberals from across Eastern Europe to address modern challenges by developing policy recommendations. IFLRY was invited to help facilitate the writing process.

Our representatives Danyil Khokhlovych and Florentyna Martynska facilitated the group on policy responses to illiberalism, populism, and democratic decline in Eastern Europe. The group produced recommendations including a push for anti-establishment yet liberal narratives and greater investment in alternative trade routes in the face of weaponised economic relations. Other groups focused on topics such as Europe as a geopolitical actor and democracy in the digital age.

At the Summit, a joint position paper with liberal youth recommendations was developed, which will be released by the FNF Central Europe office soon!
